The USAID Trade Project is organizing two-day workshops in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad (for Khyber PakhtunKhwa) and Quetta (for Balochistan participants) for relevant public and private sector stakeholders to raise awareness about internationally-accepted good agricultural practices and food safety techniques. Workshop Objectives: This workshop will enable potential and current agricultural and food products exporters to comply with internationally recognized markets requirements in terms of farming, harvesting, treatments, quality control, certifications, processing, labeling, packaging and transportation. The proposed workshops will be designed to achieve the following objectives: To raise awareness among farm owners, large-scaled producers and processors about internationally accepted agriculture practices and food protection and safety techniques To explain the significance of these techniques in international markets To generate discussion on the potential of Pakistani agriculture products in international markets To generate discussion on various aspects of these techniques implementation in Pakistan To discuss various aspects of commercialization of Pakistani agriculture to increase exports To understand the needs of this sector for future interventions
