Indonesia Auto Market Forecast & Opportunities until 2019
Indonesia with over 250 million of population (40% percent of the total ASEAN population) and growing income per capital and rising middle class has significantly made Indonesia as a potential market for global automakers. A number of automakers including Toyota, Honda, Daihatsu, Mitsubishi, General Motors and Ford have raised their new investment in Indonesia.
Some of automakers have realized the construction of new assembly plants that would roll out new models aimed at tapping the fast-growing Indonesian middle class. Auto sales in Indonesia is expected to reach 1,5 millions of unit in 2014 and 2.3 millions of unit by 2019. It making Indonesia will become one of top 10 world's auto largest markets. Since the Indonesia government approved to hit an eco-car project (Low Cost and Green Car - LCGCs). The LCGC car's sales are booming now. Beside Indonesia would become a full-scale production base of LCGC cars for ASEAN Market. The regulation of LCGC project would allow Indonesia to win new investments and add volumes to the market. The volume of car production estimate to reach 1,5 million of units by 2014.
