Community Can Also Conrtibute To Infrastructure
-
Engineers design houses as designers for a project being developed for the community but what if the community is given the chance to make their places by themselves as they are the ones living, playing and working in those places.
Previously we have been witnessing that the engineers have usually made the designs for houses and are taken to be the right ones to dos so. Engineers design houses as designers for a project being developed for the community but what if the community is given the chance to make their places by themselves as they are the ones living, playing and working in those places.
Whenever Management or an authority gives out opportunity or bid on commission for a road, rail line, a gas or pipeline for water, but if the input of community is not taken so it won’t be possible to understand the effects of building an infrastructure until consultation is done with people as they are the ones who are actually using it.
The motive of the subject is to convey that if the local people who are the actual users of those facilities which are part of infrastructure at what point they could be made more better so that they local issues could be eradicated to a greater extent. It can be summed up in a way that when it comes to infrastructure and design it’s not always the engineers who are the most dynamic people but it can also be the individuals of that community who are the actual users of that infrastructure.
The point to prove is that the community itself is sage enough to decide that what will be the requirement of an infrastructure and what will be a nuance wasting the space. The day to day exposure of an individual performing different roles sometimes as a student, Professional or Parent and Artisan overall gathering experience from every place and each moment they would better contribute that what would be the better way to determine what a city needs. It won’t be wrong to say that the citizens would be the right people to determine the design in a better way as they are the citizens who bring it to life. The point to realize is that a human centered approach proves to be more beneficial rather than just taking tools of engineering to decide that how spaces are to be designed and formed. It can’t be neglected that engineering is a vital auxiliary to construction but it is t be seen that how much vital can community opinion contribute to the infrastructure and space matters. It is to be realized that the importance of both the ends technical expertise and human observational experience both of them are simultaneously important.
