Description
More than 2,000 people fly in and out of Pakistan in Business or First Class every single day. The top 1% of the country (1.8 million people) have a household income of over $42,000 while the top 180,000 have an average household income of more than $120,000. They travel both for leisure and business. They stay at the finest hotels and visit multiple destinations every year.
More than 10 million international passengers fly in and out of Pakistani airports each year. Another 8 million people fly on domestic routes. With 18 million airline passengers every year, it is no wonder that international airlines such as Emirates, Saudi Airlines, Etihad Airways, Gulf Air, Turkish Airlines and Thai Airways are competing for traffic. Local carriers - PIA, Airblue and Shaheen Air – compete for the 8 million domestic passengers and also account for 25-30% of international traffic. New airlines are being established within the country and budget airlines from the Gulf like flydubai, airarabia and rakairways are also picking up passengers from Pakistan where year on year airline traffic is growing at a robust rate.
